What is the significance of wilderness areas?

  Choose two contrasting wilderness areas & research/ select information to show why they are of value & should be protected.
  
  Key reasons for protecting wilderness include:
  Storehouse of biodiversity
  Maintain ecosystem services (e.g. clean water)
  They are carbon sinks
  Home to indigenous people
  They have a recreational value
  Contain landforms of great importance
  Have aesthetic and spiritual value
  Have religious value
  There is a moral imperative to sustain our planet for future generations
  Each ecosystem and its products are of value (esp. forests)
  
  I will want to see a summary of your research (mindmap, table, diagram,text.....), but you need to create a folder of research (virtual or paper –up to you, both might be safest!)
