Alternative Information to Earlier Renewable Energy Section
In recent years there has been substantial progress in the development of renewable technologies that are appropriate to urban environments such as active solar (photovoltaics and solar panels), biofuels and smaller scale wind power. The incorporation of these features can raise the marketability of a development due to their green credentials, higher profile and lower revenue costs for the occupiers of businesses and homes. Businesses are also becoming increasingly conscious of how they may be affected by the climate change levy in years to come, something they will be exempt from if their energy requirements are sourced from renewable technologies. Certain technologies, such as photovoltaics are now eligible for central government funding.
